WHY ARE PRAYERS NOT ANSWERED?

We wonder sometimes why are prayers are not being answered especially in times we need help badly.  It seems heaven’s door has closed on us, and we are put in a situation we do not know what to do or to whom to turn to.

There are five (5) basic things that could help us unlock heaven’s door, and allow our prayers unhindered, thus, the answer to our prayers just flow freely.  These are:

  1. Remove sin from our lives;
  2. Do not rob God;
  3. Pray for others;
  4. Pray for Israel;
  5. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sin is like a cork in a bottle that closes the container.

No matter how free flowing the water that runs towards it, the water just could not get inside because there is a matter that blocks the liquid to flow in.  In the same manner, sin will not be allowed in heaven so everytime you come to God’s throne that sin could not let you inside the place where God is, and hinders you from allowing you to have an audience with God.  The Bible says, “your sin has separated you from your God,” although God’s hand is not short that it cannot save nor His ear heavy that He cannot hear you.  Has He not created both ears and hand?  And will He not then be willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, if you need it?  But then, sin blocks your prayers.  Remove sin from your life.  Confess those sins, and leave them behind.  They are not worth clinging unto because you forfeit yourself of the many blessings that you could have received and will ever receive.

Next,  a robber is considered a criminal no matter who he is, what is his color, race, or status.  Robbery is a universal offense.  When a person rob another individual, he is liable to pay for his guilt.

How much more when an individual robs God?  The Bible clearly states that those (specifically God’s people) who fail to give their tithes to God is robbing Him.  And what is the consequence of such action?  Yout prayers are not heard.  It is not that God is interested with your offering, because He owns everything.  It is a covenant between you and Him that you give what belongs to Him, and you will receive that which belongs to you, and even so much more because no one can outgive God.

Thirdly, praying for others bring answers to our prayers as well.  Look at it this way.  When you knock heaven’s door, and when it is opened, you say, “Good Lord, this person here who is with me has no shoes, will you give him one?”  And when God looks at you, He notices that you, too, do not have shoes either.  Do you think He will give shoes only to the one you are with?  Definitely not, He will give you shoes as well.  Perhaps better than what He will to that person for whom you are asking for.  There are many testimonies that manifest that indeed as they pray for others, their needs are met also more than what they asked for.

Praying for the nation Israel, more particularly the peace of Jerusalem, brings blessings to those who do it.

israel

This is a covenant promise made by God to Abraham when He said “I will bless those who bless you.”  Clearly, the psalmist in the Bible left this admonition to the readers that looking for the good of this chosen nation will be rewarded.  Israel is the apple of God’s eye, and when we take care of this nation, then God will take care of us, too.

Sinful as we are, we do not have the right to come to God’s throne on our own.  How can a holy God be approached by a sinner like us?  His throne is surrounded with fire, and He Himself is a consuming fire.  Who can ever approach such a Deity?  But there is One and only One who had earned the right to approach the Kingly throne. His name is Jesus, the Christ.

lamb of God

When He offered Himself as a sacrificial Lamb of God, God was appeased!  He accepted that offering as a pleasing aroma, and He smiled and His heart was glad.  So when we come to God’s throne for our petitions, we come in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Everytime, we passed thru the blood of Christ, we are made clean and we can freely approach God’s throne.

And if we know that He hears us, we are confident that we ask for will be answered.

So if your longings have not been answered yet, look at yourself through these mirrors, and do what is best.  Soon, you will see heaven open and the Son of God Himself answering your prayers for He Himself said,  “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
